Who is June Booth?

June Booth is a local House Rabbit Society licensed Educator and has completed an Introduction to Rabbit Medicine course on the VIN (Veterinary Information Network). She was the only non-veterinarian taking the course.

June has loved animals all her life. She has been involved in animal rescue work, in one form or another, for years. While serving as a U. S. Coast Guard licensed Master of Vessels, she spent a lot of time at sea where she became involved with bird rescue. It was while living in Mystic, CT, that June’s focus was rescuing wildlife.

In the mid-'90s rabbits became June’s focus. Although she has loved them since her youth, it wasn’t until June was in her fifties that she took in her first rescued rabbit. As June said, “Wait long enough and your dreams come true.” Call it a mission or call it simple love, June puts her heart and soul into rabbits.

June’s obvious love for these soft affectionate creatures contributes greatly to our communities growing knowledge of rabbits and rabbit care.

June’s personal goals, motivated by her love for rabbits, are to educate the public about rabbits as house pets and to rescue rabbits, have them spayed/neutered and adopt them to responsible loving homes. June works with area shelters and veterinarians to obtain these goals.

June Booth may be reached at 985.649.8990
